Progressing Ballet Technique Certified Teacher – London
Rainbow Ballet Studio is a bilingual (Chinese & English) dance school registered with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). We follow the RAD curriculum to provide students with a well-rounded classical ballet education. Our students have consistently achieved outstanding results, with a 100% pass rate in the annual RAD examinations.
We teach children and adult ballet from beginners to advanced level.
Mocking exam is introduced before the RAD exams.
In addition to regular classes and exams, we host an annual performance, where every student is invited to shine on stage.
We also offer Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) workshops, repertoire coaching, safe dance practice, pointe work studies, and more — creating a rich, inspiring, and well-rounded dance experience for every student.
About Me
Hello! I’m Hong, but students affectionately call me Rainbow 老师 or Miss Hong, as Hong means “rainbow” in Chinese.
Trained in Newcastle, I performed the Nutcracker Pas de Deux at City Hall and later joined the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in London. I had the honour of dancing as a parade leader during the Queen’s 90th birthday celebration on The Mall.
I hold a Distinction in Dissertation from RAD, am a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher, and currently serve as a course tutor and module convenor with RAD China. I’ve also taught at the English National Ballet School Junior.
In 2020, I became the first recipient in RAD history of the Early Career Dance Teacher Award, selected from over 300 teachers worldwide. That same year, I was invited by RAD and the Victoria and Albert Museum to speak at the On Pointe exhibition. Later, my students and I appeared in the World Ballet Day global livestream, recognised for our creativity during the pandemic.
I hope my students grow to be creative, focused, loving, and grounded in humanity.
My motto is: “To teach sometimes, to care often, and to love always.”

这周的课上我们重点说了把杆中地面画圈圈（rond de jambe à terre）的练习，那我们在这里做一个详细的总结。
Rond de jambe à terre和蹲，擦地等，是把杆中不可或缺的一部分，rond de jambe是法语中画圈的意思，锻炼的是腿的外开及控制外开的能力，今天所介绍的是在地面的画圈运动，也就是à terre。Rond de jambe à terre主要分为向外画圈（en dehors）和向内画圈（en dedans），结合本周的课，我们着重介绍向外画圈（如下图所示）。
